Today is the12-year wedding anniversary of Justin Trudeau, the handsome, wildly charming Canadian prime minister, and his wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau. The pair first met as children growing up in Montreal, where Sophie was a school classmate of Justin’s younger brother. It was 2003 when their paths crossed again at a charity event, and they started dating shortly thereafter. They were married in 2005 in Montreal and now have three children. When they were on the campaign trail last year, Trudeau was always quick to give props to his partner in life and in love. Just before his 2015 election, he tweeted (in French), “Thank you, #MyLove (and, I should say, Sophie!) for all your door knocking and the work you have done in this campaign.”
It’s refreshing to hear one very public romance is still stronger than ever. Above, a throw back toast to the Canadian lovebirds, as they were before he was seated in the House of Commons and now.
