On this day in 2009, The Princess and the Frog first came the theaters.Tiana is well-known for being a hard-worker, independent, and for having the most costume changes of any Disney Princess. Though she wears two beautiful ball gowns in the film, we decided to celebrate the film’s anniversary with a more practical outfit based on the yellow work dress she wears BEFORE she reaches princess status.
To achieve Tiana’s beautiful, buttery-colored dress, we went with a more modern shirt dress that still has a bit of a vintage vibe. We love that she wears an oversized coat, so we went with a green trench that is a great buy because its versatility. Instead of her flapper style hat, we went for this fedora from Sole Society. Since the dress doesn’t have much shape, we wanted to go with heels that would add some length to the shape of the outfit–these ones from Rag & Bone are super cute and still comfy! To finish off the look, we added a Tiana-approved satchel that is fun, but also perfect for going to work.
