A film’s actual birthday (as opposed to its un-birthday), only comes once a year. That’s why we’re very happy to celebrate the anniversary of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.
This film is a Disney Style must: it’s filled with so many colors, characters, and moments to take inspiration from. There’s the Golden Afternoon, the mad tea party, the Caterpillar, and Alice’s classic blue frock itself.
We paid homage to this aesthetically fanciful film with an outfit that was a little bit tea party, a little bit wacky, but still very Alice. The blue dress (ModCloth), is very simple and prim like Alice’s, but incorporates a rather fun collar that updates it from her rather traditional outfit. Instead of an ordinary black headband, this one from Asos has a giant heart, clearly a nod to the Queen of Hearts. The shoes by Chloe are a bit of an unconventional take on the usual Mary Jane silhouette–we are celebrating Wonderland after all.
For accessories, we chose a striped clutch from Asos and a tea cup ring–both a little kooky and curious to match that Wonderland vibe. The watch from Hot Topic is just too perfect, and we should probably wear it year-round to show our Alice appreciation. Finally, to finish off this look, we sneaked in a little nod to the Caterpillar with these caterpillar-inspired earrings from ModCloth.
